The behind the scenes on location shooting that was done on the North and South Island in New Zealand, Prague and Czech Republic was done by Ludovico Technique, owned and operated by Robert Meyer Burnett. It looks absolutely amazing.
Burnett is no stranger to the DVD community. Having worked on Lord of the Rings: Two Towers as interview producer and also an editor and also his company, Ludovico, producing the DVDs for Usual Suspects, X-Men 1.5, X-2 and most recently Free Enterprise: Extended Edition. Robert is still working on the highly anticipated Superman Returns.
Their was a long rumored documentary entitled The World of Narnia: The Essential Guide. The Essential Guide was to have new, never before seen video interviews with some of the biggest Fantasy writers of our time. Early reports had this disc preceding the theatrical release of Narnia.
We called Robert Burnett in his Los Angeles office to see if he knew anything about this. When asked about Narnia he simply stated " No Comment." What happened we don't know but if we get the word out perhaps we will see it soon!
Robert did remind us to pick up his Free Enterprise: Extended Edition which has the same release date as Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire on March 7 th . He also gave us a tidbit on Superman Returns. "Superman Returns DVD is the best we have ever done", stated Burnett.
Although Amazon has Narnia listed as April 4th, there is no set release date yet. But we do know that both sets will be released simultaneously so no need to wait for the special edition! Keep your eyes out come spring.
Stay tuned to the IESB for further updates! |
