Exclusive Video Interview: Robert Patrick on Walk The Line and Flags of our Fathers

Author: Robert Sanchez

In these days of metro sexual's, hi fashion, spend more time in front of a mirror, high maintenance male actors, it's refreshing to still have male lead actors that spew machismo. One of those actors is in no doubt Robert Patrick. According to his peers this is one man that while on set, his presence alone demands respect and attention.

Robert has a few films that have recently wrapped or currently still in production, the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line is one them and the Clint Eastwood WWII film Flags of our Father is currently being filmed.

Last night at the Entertainment Weekly Pre-Emmy party at the Cabana Club in Hollywood Robert spent a few minutes talking about playing Ray Cash, the father of music legend Johnny Cash.

Robert said “Ray Cash definitely left an impression on young Johnny Cash' life and I had good time doing it. Joaq did a great a job playing Johnny and James Mangold the director directed me in Copland, this was the second time that I worked with him and the second time that I worked with Joaquin as well and Reese did a great job. It's really, really a wonderful movie.”

Robert who is a very strong supporter of the U.S. Military will be portraying Colonel Chandler Johnson in Clint Eastwood's Flags of our Fathers.

“I play Colonel Chandler Johnson he is the Colonel of 28th Marine battalion second platoon, I am the Colonel that sends the boys up with flag and tells them if they make it to the top … to plant the flag”.

Flags of our Fathers is based on the novel of the same name written by James Bradley that tell the life stories of the six men who raised the flag at The Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in WWII.
