BUBBA HO-TEP has finally found a home video distributor with MGM. Fangoria.com reports the following:

Writer/director Don Coscarelli just gave Fango the scoop that he has closed a deal for MGM to release his terrific Elvis-vs.-mummy horror/comedy BUBBA HO-TEP on video. “They’ve set a street date of May 25,” he tells us. “They are very enthusiastic, and it’s pretty cool that Elvis is returning to the studio where he made a lot of his films.” No details yet on DVD extras, though it has been rumored that Coscarelli and star Bruce Campbell would love to include an audio commentary with the actor speaking in character as Elvis. In the meantime, if you live in Texas and still want to catch BUBBA on the big screen, Coscarelli reports, “Bruce, JoeLansdale [upon whose novella BUBBA is based] and I will be screening the movie at the Nacogdoches Film Festival March 5-7. We will be running PHANTASM also.”
