Has JJ Abrams found the man who will Captain the Enterprise in the 11th film of the Star Trek Franchise?

Who does JJ Abrams have in mind for the role of Captain Pike in his upcoming Star Trek pre-sequel? The name we keep hearing various sources say is Josh Lucas.

Please keep in mind that these sources are not the same sources that brought us the since confirmed news that Karl Urban had been cast as Dr. McCoy. We've been hearing this rumor for the last few weeks but have lately picked up momentum. Still, these sources are reliable and fairly certain of Abrams wanting Lucas for the lesser known, but still highly coveted, role of original Enterprise Captain.

Robert tells me that Captain Pike was the original Captain of the Enterprise when the Star Trek pilot was filmed. Spock was also said to have been under Pike's command for years. I'm not up much on the canon but seems like Abrams has it in mind to tell the story of Kirk's rise to Captain to which I'm not sure if it was ever adequately explained.

Calls to Paramount and Lucas' agent have not been returned but it does seem to be adding up that Lucas is indeed being considered for the role. None the less, until we get our phone calls returned or our other inside sources can get this confirmed, this is still a rumor.
