Nothing says Christmas like chipmunks roasting on an open fire, I mean, chestnuts roasting on an open fire and Alvin and the Chipmunks playing in the background. Updated with more images

Christmas Dont Be Late is probably one of my favorite Christmas songs (second only to Blue Christmas) and with the Holidays nearing and the newly revamped Chipmunks film coming out, things are just feeling all warm and fuzzy.

WAFFLES A LA CHIPMUNK

(Approximately 5 servings)

Ingredients:

1 cups of all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

teaspoon salt

3 egg yolks

3 egg whites (stiffly beaten)

teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cups of milk

cup vegetable oil

Directions:

1. In a large bowl, beat egg yolks until light and fluffy and stir in milk.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt

3. Slowly add the flour combination into the larger bowl

4. Once mixed evenly, stir in oil and vanilla extract

5. Gently fold in beaten egg whites, be careful not to over mix

6. Pour the recommended amount of batter onto waffle iron as directed by the

manufacturer. Cook until both sides are golden brown and serve hot!

* For a special Munk/holiday twist, add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the dry mix

in step two
