Karl Urban, Jennifer Morrison, Anton
Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Clifton Collins Jr. and Chris
Hemsworth at the World Premiere of Cloverfield.
{sidebar id=1}About a week ago when I was
credentialed to cover the Cloverfield Premiere on the Paramount Lot I
was pretty confident that cast of Abram's Trek would show up. Then a
couple of days ago I received the tip sheet that confirmed my
suspicion, the main cast was indeed scheduled to be there but would I
get a chance to talk to them?
Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto were the
first of the crew to arrive but from the get go, it was quite obvious
that they were being kept away from the majority of the press with
the exception of useless large networks such as The Insider, Access
Hollywood, E.T. and E!. Yeah, they were playing it safe. We did
manage to get pictures of them but that was pretty much it.
The good news is that we got to talk to
Jennifer Morrison (Winona Kirk), Chris Hemsworth (George Kirk), Karl
Urban (Leonard "Bones" McCoy), Bruce Greenwood (Captain
Pike), John Cho (Hikaru Sulu), Anton Yelchin (Pavel Chekov) and
Clifton Collins Jr. (Romulan Ayel).
Unfortunately Zoe Saldana, J.J. Abrams,
Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto didnt make down to our area but
dont fret since we still have some goodies for our fellow
Trekkers.
I was warned by a few publicist friends
from Paramount to play nice and not to reveal spoilers or try to get
the actors to slip and reveal anything that could get them in trouble
and I obliged. Man, was I biting my tongue, thats what I live for.
Jennifer Morrison talked to us about
her audition process, the secrecy of this production, working with
J.J. and her run-in with the Trek Paparazzi.
Chris Hemsworth on being the daddy of
Kirk, pay attention to this interview, he gives up some minor
spoilers, says he's working with Jennifer Morrison, I played nice and
I did not follow through, my bad.
Karl Urban on his take on Bones, the
secrecy of the project, the Enterprise and also his thoughts on the
recent announcement that the Hobbit is on its way.
Bruce Greenwood, John Cho, Clifton
Collins Jr. and Anton Yelchin on wearing their costumes for the first
time, will Pike give Kirk some competition with the ladies and listen
to John Cho try to say "Oh my" like George Takei.
