Guillermo del Toro confirms that he is taking a trip to Middle Earth with a bunch of dwarfs, hobbits and some big ass eagles. 

Earlier today we got the heads up on some video showing a clip of the premiere of The Orphanage in France in where its announced that del Toro will be directing the Hobbit.

The conversation is in Spanish and French, but there is no doubt that Guillermo is mentioned as the director of The Hobbit.
