Producer Chuck Roven talked with IESB's Robert Sanchez while on the red carpet of the Spike TV Scream Awards 2008!

{sidebar id=1}He had news to share including some info on the upcoming big screen adaptation of ROBOTECH with Tobey Maguire's Maguire Entertainment also producing and Lawrence Kasdan writing the screenplay.

Quickly, wrapping up some other news he also shared with IESB on various projects The Flash is in a holding pattern currently with no new developments; The third Nolan helmed Batman, Sanchez asked everything from who would be a good villain to when we will be hearing about pre-production, Roven says there is absolutely no news right now, that nothing has been talked about and no story has been imagined yet; Get Smart 2 is also in the script writing stage and the whole crew of Carrell, Hathaway, Arkin etc. are excited to come back.

On to the ROBOTECH news. IESB's Robert Sanchez asked several questions including, will the story take place on Earth? When will shooting begin? Is IMAX a possibility? The big screen adaptation of ROBOTECH is a sprawling sci-fi epic, "Robotech" takes place at a time when Earth has developed giant robots from the technology on an alien spacecraft that crashed on a South Pacific isle. Mankind is forced to use the technology to fend off three successive waves of alien invasions. The first invasion concerns a battle with a race of giant warriors who seek to retrieve their flagship's energy source known as "protoculture," and the planet's survival ends up in the hands of two young pilots.
