Steve Carrell's GET SMART sequel is underway in the scripting stages right now and is planned for a Spring 2010 release.

Producer Chuck Roven spoke to IESB exclusively about the project's status and actually confirmed the hopeful release date, and believe me when you get this man to confirm something it's a feat!

IESB: A Get Smart sequel is in the works...

Chuck Roven: It is, and were hopeful that well be able to get that into production in Spring of 2010.

IESB: Its just in the scripting stages now?

CR: Correct.

Ahh..the old sequel in Spring of 2010 trick...

Everyone is expected back including director Peter Segal and stars Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway.

Matt Ember is currently writing the script.
