IMAX Corporation today announced that the Paramount Pictures release
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The IMAX Experience, directed by
Michael Bay and featuring scenes filmed with IMAX(R) cameras, posted exceptionally strong opening result.

With an estimated
$14.4 million coming from 169 IMAX(R) theatres domestically, for a per screen average of over
$85,000 during the five-day opening from
Wednesday, June 24 through
Sunday, June 28. The IMAX release contributed more than 7% of the film's
$201 million total on less than 2% of the screens.
The film continued to play well in IMAX theatres internationally, grossing approximately
$3.2 million, bringing the international total to
$3.9 million from 60 screens since opening on
June 19. The IMAX release continued to set records for the biggest IMAX opening in international markets including
China,
Australia, and
France. The film's worldwide IMAX total has reached
$18.3 million.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: The IMAX Experience features select scenes filmed with IMAX cameras. Director
Michael Bay
has seamlessly integrated the IMAX footage with state-of-the-art CGI
and visual effects to create an unprecedented look and feel for the
sequel to Transformers. The movie sequences shot in traditional 35mm
have been digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound
quality of The IMAX Experience with IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering)
technology. The IMAX DMR scenes appear in the traditional "letterbox"
shape, while scenes shot with IMAX's cameras will expand vertically on
the IMAX screen.
