When Warner Bros. moved the release of the latest Harry Potter film from last year to July 15 of this year, were they aware of Paramount's exclusive booking of IMAX screens with Transformers Revenge of the Fallen?

{sidebar id=1}Was is an oversight or cunning marketing? Did WB think they could keep the box office churning out bank if they first had it only on regular screens and then subsequently re-debuting it in IMAX screens weeks later with those same fans returning? Or did someone just screw up and didn't realize it?

Could be either, I am inclined to think the latter after the Fox/Watchmen debacle.

Well, for those of you in Chicago, no worries, you can see it in IMAX on opening night including 5 days of midnight screenings.

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago will be screening HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE in their Omnimax theater, a five story domed wrap around theater.

Be one of the first to see the new Harry Potter in IMAX!

More info below -

The Museum of Science and Industry will play host to the newest Harry Potter? film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?, at the Omnimax theater in IMAX format.

In this sixth film, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (Voldemort) is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds, and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead, and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
