Jon Voight has been attached to Ghost Rider for over a year now, yet there’s been no specific word even since the project was greenlit at Sony. While promoting his latest film, Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2, Voight explained that while he is still attached, his character may be rewritten in subsequent script drafts.

"They’ve gone back and forth with the villain,” Voight said. “They had a mysterious devil figure, very powerful devil figure at one point. I think they’ve divided the character up and made him rather younger. That’s why I don't know in the final version if I will be winding up doing it.”

Voight has gone ahead and made preparations, should he still fit into the final version of the script. “I’ve actually even designed a piece in preparation for it. But as I say, it may not come my way. It may go in a younger direction or different direction, so I’m flexible. We’ll see what happens. If I do, I’ll be very happy to do it.”

As usual, it seems the thing that will set this comic book movie apart from special effects spectacle will be… drum role… a love story. “Of course, each of them is quite distinct. This has a lot of stuff that would set it apart. There’s a lot of magical stuff to it and metaphysical stuff. But the thing that will hold it together, I think, is the love story. It’s a very beautiful love story.”
