A return to science fiction by Sir Ridley would be welcomed by most of his fans. But would he return to his sci-fi roots?

Today we had the chance to ask him specifically that, would he return to do another Alien film? Sir Ridley responded by saying that the studio should've asked him to direct the sequel, Aliens, in the first place.

After that slight jab he did say given a good script and solid story he would consider returning to the franchise.

After AVP one would wonder if the franchise would be able to be resurrected, pun regrettably intended, and entertain serious sci- fi aficionados.
