The only reason I took the job was because of one name on the guest list, Michael Bay.

Michael is a good friend of Ken Sax and was a sure bet of him attending the party. Press call was at 9:00 PM and arrivals began at 9:30 PM. We arrived a little early to guarantee a good spot on the red carpet and to make sure not to miss a chance to ask Bay about the Transformers. It wasn't until 11:30PM that Michael pulled up in his Ferrari, which was a good thing since I was ready to head home.
I had been warned before that Michael was not an easy interview or someone who would be willing to spill the beans on Transformers or any of his upcoming projects but we just had to try.
The trades reported a few weeks ago that Bay was in talks to helm the project but there has been no other confirmation of his involvement from the studio or his production company, that all changed last night.
Michael Bay confirmed that he will be directing Transformers and that the movie is on a fast pace with plenty of prep work currently being done. Bay did say that shooting will start in December and the script is not done.
I also had to ask a few fan boy questions, will original voice over actors be used in the movie? Will it it be a mixture of the comics and the cartoon series? Will it have a classic feel to the movie? Michael responded "Yes, well make everyone satisfied on that."
Of course it wasn't a simple interview and at times I felt like I was pulling teeth and I have to apologize to Michael since I am sure that he had a long day at work and was tired from editing The Island. The last thing that he wanted was some geeky tubby bastard asking him about Transformers but hey, it's my job.
One more thing, when asked if he sees this as a franchise with 3 or 4 movies he responded that it could be.
By the way you don't have to take my word for it, you can watch the video interview by clicking here.
Yes I know, I was very persistent to get my answers and not my best work but oh well!
