Now
that the Indy DVD sets have become the best selling DVD box sets in history
Uncle George is going to give us fans what we have been waiting for, the
original trilogy on DVD will be released later this year. Expected release
date will be mid-November to maximize its sales during the Christmas rush.
Technical details have yet to be released but a few things are certain,
it will have new interviews with George, Rick Mccallum and some of the
original actors. It will also have the original trailers and of course
all of the special edition TV spots. Word is that some of the footage
that was never used for the final cut but was used for the Star Wars CD-roms
(Biggs and friends scenes) will be put in as extra footage for the 4th
disc. Our first glimpse of Episode III will be on these discs. Just
to remind everyone that these are the Special Editions and not the original
versions. If we remember a year ago, George Lucas promised never to release
the original versions on DVD ever again and only the Special editions
will be made. Our first glimpse at this highly coveted DVD set will be
at this years' San Diego Comic-Con. New Hope, Empire and Jedi finally
on a non-bootleg DVD...there must be a God!!! |
