Last year during the ILM tribute that took place at the Graumans Egyptian, George clearly stated that Star Wars on the big screen post Episode III would not happen. He stated that Star Wars would continue in another medium. Earlier this year we reported on a rumor that the franchise just might make it to TV. One thing that the Clone Wars Cartoon series has proven is that Star Wars in the hands of someone else could succeed.

Our sources at Lucasfilm believe that we will have both a live action Star Wars series and also an animated one, possible with the help of Genndy. One of the series may follow the Tales of the Jedi storyline.

This is what theforce.net posted:

We're continuing to hear about the direction for Lucasfilm and Star Wars post-Episode III. While there won't be more movies, we continue to hear the move is to TV. Sources are now telling us that there WILL be a TV series in 2006. They don't know whether it'll be live-action, animated or both - Lucasfilm itself will decide on this later this year!
