Jay Chandrasekhar on the future of Broken Lizard and Beer Fest
Author: Stephanie Sanchez

We caught Jay Chandrasekhar at the premiere of The Greatest Game Ever Played to support his Pina Colataburg buddy, Bill Paxton. We asked him about the future of Broken Lizard and upcoming projects.

The gang plans to make Beer Fest, about the secret underground beer games in Munich, much like Fight Club or Death Sport, he says. “Like, 5 man international teams having beer games, not to the death but something close.”

How about a Dukes sequel? He says we’ll see if people still dig it on video and if there is a demand I am sure we would all go back and do it.

And a sequel to Super Troopers? He says the Broken Lizard gang is thinking about making Super Troopers ’76, based in 1976 where they play their fathers. He says they would be unable to continue from the end of the original because they have all become local cops and they “thought it would be cockamamie to go back to being Troopers.”

If Super Trooper ’76 does happen it would most likely be after Beer Fest. The much rumored Greek film is not ready to be shot due to the weather. “Its going to be winter so we may do it when the weather gets better.”

Well that’s latest and we will keep you updated!
