The Visiting, a sci-fi thriller recently retitled from Invasion, stars Nicole Kidman as a psychiatrist living in Washington DC. It tells the story of a mysterious epidemic that alters the behavior of human beings. Once she discovers the epidemics origin is extraterrestrial she must fight to protect her son who may hold the key to stopping an imminent invasion.

The film is being shot in DC and Baltimore and it was just a great combination we got a lot of locaters that are really great for us here and a lot of locaters down there in Baltimore and it just worked really well for the story of the movie, we’ve had a great support from both cities they help us shoot there let us make a difficult movie in a really comfortable situation we are really happy to be in both these two cities - Joel Silver

Its about fear this movie, and its not that much of a visual effects picture its very smart and I think that what Ovier is doing is telling a really kind of insidious tale that has great resonance for today and it's scary and threatening and an interesting way of telling a science fiction thriller. The script is wonderful that David wrote but Olivers way of shooting it is very exciting, we will shot the city of Baltimore a way it’s never been seen before - Joel Silver

If you know anything about the anthology of the body snatchers its hard to escape a certain political element, the allegory is one of people being taken over when they are not paying attention, when they are sleeping right, so there’s an element of that but you know I started this script before any of this was happening but being in my room and I look back to it and I deliberately did not watch the film adaptations I just read the book and I thought what is it about this book that would carry over to today? - Oliver Kajganich

This isn't a remake, this is reinvented using the original source material its very interesting to see in my case having seen the 70's one to see the flavor that it takes on from the time in which it was filmed and I think inevitably that will be a consequence of this version too...By also being entertaining and very scary and something people are going to want to go out and watch we have a responbility to raise some debate about fear - Daniel Craig

At a certain point at the end of the second act, the third act starts with our heorine leaving for Baltimore because she got the information that her son that she is searching for might be in Baltimore so she goes and the whole ending is going to be in Baltimore - Oliver Hirschbiegel
