Freddy has three big projects on his slate. Poseidon, Lady in the Water, and Bobby.
He has completed his work on Poseidon where he played Marco Valentin. He reunites with his Dreamer costar Kurt Russell to bring this remake of the 1972 classic to life.
Next up is M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water. Although trying to get people to talk about their roles in an M. Night movie is close to impossible, after a little coaxing Freddy opened up a little about his character Reggie.
Q: You've been busy with Poseidon Adventure.
FR: I'm done with Poseidon, I'm doing Lady in the Water now
Q: Shyamalans' film...how's that's goin'?
FR: It's great
Q: Who do you play in that one? Can you talk?
FR: I play a guy named Reggie is all I can tell you
Q: That's it? (laughing)
FR: (getting a little hush hush) I play a guy...who as an experiment works out one side of his body only so half of my body is 4 ½ inches bigger than the other side
Q: How strange
FR: Yeah very strange
Q: Were there a lot of prosthetics on that?
FR: I don’t know…maybe it's real maybe it's not, you have to wait and see (smiling)
Synopsis: In "Lady in the Water," a story originally conceived by Shyamalan for his children, a modest building manager named Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti) rescues a mysterious young woman (Bryce Dallas Howard) from danger and discovers she is actually a narf, a character from a bedtime story who is trying to make the treacherous journey from our world back to hers. Cleveland and his fellow tenants start to realize that they are also characters in this bedtime story. As Cleveland falls deeper and deeper in love with the woman, he works together with the tenants to protect his new fragile friend from the deadly creatures that reside in this fable and are determined to prevent her from returning home.
Next up is Bobby, a story that centers around the events of the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. Written and Directed by Emilio Estevez, Bobby also stars Anthony Hopkins, Sharon Stone, Elijah Wood and Demi Moore.
